  • How do I know what class to sign up for?

If it is your first time taking group lessons you will sign up for  Snow Plow Sam 1-2 (ages 4-6), Basic 1 / Hockey 1 (ages 7-16). There are detailed descriptions of our classes broken down by age group on the curriculum sheets below. Skills are constantly evaluated in classes so if you do not end up in the appropriate class we will get you to the right one!

  • I have skated in ISI group lessons, how do I know what to sign up for?

Please ask! In general, you can compare the skill list from your last ISI class with our classes and find the right one. We are happy to help you find the best fit for your skill level. Please note, our instructors may need to adjust your group

  • How long are classes?

All of our classes are 30 minutes long offered once a week. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to be ready for the start of your class.

  • What do I wear?

We recommend warm clothing such as pants, jacket, and gloves. It is also recommended that skaters in the Snowplow Sam  1-4 and Basic 1-3 classes wear helmets. Hockey 3 are required to have hockey helmets.
  • I do not have my own skates, can I still sign up for classes?

Yes!   All lessons include skate rental. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to class to allow for time to get skates and be ready to step on the ice at the beginning of class.

  • How do I know if my skates fit?

Our rental skates fit true to your shoe size.  If there is too much room at the toes, select a smaller size.  When lacing the skates begin tightening them near the toes working your way up the ankle. Be sure to lace them all the way up! If laces are too long tie them back down the eyelets, do not tie them around the ankle.

  • Is there time for me to practice?

The practice sessions are good for an equal number of public sessions as paid class sessions and is good for the ENROLLED STUDENT ONLY. The sessions will expire on the last day of the LTS session. Please just tell the front desk staff your last name in order to receive the free public session. Please check the website for the most current public skating schedule.
