Welcome to the Haymarket IcePlex located at 15155 Washington St. in the beautiful downtown historic Town of Haymarket, Virginia; behind Piedmont Tire. We have been open to the public since 2011 and offer 2 sheets of ice.

On this website, you will be able to find information about our programs including travel and recreational hockey leagues, group skating lessons, birthday parties, figure skating, synchronized skating, try hockey for free, learn to play hockey, private lessons and more.

 Our intention is to provide the best experience on- and off-ice for everyone who walks through our doors.

Learn to Skate Classes

Learn To Skate Classes

We offer figure skating, recreational skating or hockey SKATING skills.

We run 8 week classes annually on Mondays  6p-6:30p and 6:30p-7p  and Saturdays 10a-10:30a and 10:30a -11am .  Classes are for ages 4 years old - 18y. For more information please hit the SKATING AND LESSONS tab above. You must know how to skate before you can enroll in our Learn To Play Hockey Program (LTPH) and our Future Caps Learn To Play Program (FCLTP).

If you are over 18 years young, there are no group lesson classes available, BUT you can take private lessons at our facility with our instructors.








Preparations are complete for the 2023-2024 Future Caps Learn to Play program at the Haymarket Iceplex;  the Haymarket Iceplex is proud to remain a Capitals Rink Partner.

The Future Caps Learn to Play program, presented by World Wide Technology, provides an opportunity for skaters 5-9 years of age to receive a free complete set of hockey gear while participating in a four-week instructional program on learning to play hockey. 

 Participants MUST have prior skating experience (the Iceplex strongly recommends completion of Learn to Skate Hockey 1/2 - 3/4 or equivalent, or a personal evaluation) before registering for Future Caps Learn to Play.  A registrant cannot have participated in a prior formal Learn to Play Hockey course of instruction.  Participants must be between the ages of 5 to 9 by the first on-ice-date of their session.  Each session at the Iceplex consists of twice/week on-ice periods for a total of four weeks.  On-ice days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-5:50pm.

Registration for sessions will close 14 working days prior to the start date so that the free equipment may be received in time.

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY FOR AGES 5-9 and ages 10-16

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY (LTPH)--- This instructional program follows after completion of the Learn to Skate (hockey) program.  (See our Learn To Skate (LTS) program of classes under the SKATING AND LESSONS tab above.)

Ice times for these sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-5:50pm.

Full hockey gear is required for this program. You must have passed Hockey 4 in our learn to skate (LTS) program before you can attend this program.

The next  session will feature  LTPH 10-16 (ages 10-16)  beginning on February 13, 2024  and  completing on March 21, 2024.  This session is scheduled to enable a swift transition into the spring youth house/recreational hockey program of the Piedmont Hockey Club.  The PHC spring youth hockey season will begin in early April 2024 and extend through mid-June 2024.

Planning a Birthday Party?


includes our large party room, 1 large pizza and 2- 2 liter drinks from Papa Johns Pizza.

Party package cost is $250 for 8 kids/skaters. (this includes the birthday boy/girl)

Party Options/ EXTRAS, which will cost more money :  you can order more  pizzas, and more drinks, and you can add more skaters/guests if you choose to do so. 


Additional Option: More $: If you choose to add the option of a 30-minute group instructed class to teach any children who are new to ice-skating, how to skate with our professional coaches, please give 10 day prior notice to us so we can get a coach available for your date / time of your party. Group lesson prices payable to the coach prior the lesson, depend on how many skaters  you will have skating in the group. 1 - 15 skaters is $40  / 16 - 24 skaters is $60 /  25 - 30 skaters is $80. YOU MUST PAY VIA CASH TO THE COACH THEMSELVES PRIOR TO THE ON ICE GIVEN LESSON!!! 30 skaters is our maximum for a group lesson on the ice

Parties are held during our scheduled Public Session times only which are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Party Room is for 1 hour only either before public session or after public session. Example: If our Saturday public session is from 5:30p to 6:50p  then your party room can be from 4:30p-5:30p or 6:50p-7:50p. Public session times subject to change per season.

Tiki Tikhonov: Girl’s Hockey Director for the Predators from 2022 to present. Head coach of 16uAA and 16uA girls teams, Assistant of 19uAA girls team. Coach Tiki Tikhonov is a 3rd generation professional ice hockey coach. She is the granddaughter of Viktor Tikhonov, daughter of Vasili Tikhonov and sister of Viktor Tikhonov. Tiki is the owner of Tikhonov Training Camp, a hockey camp she started in honor of her late father and grandfather. Her professional playing career was with Porin Ässät in Finland and DHCL in Switzerland. Tiki’s official coaching career started early with Santa Clara Valley Blackhawks in 1998 and she had continuously coached most of the youth teams in the bay area in California. Alongside running her own Tikhonov Training Camps and private lessons all over the world she likes to give back to the hockey community. She has led numerous girls give hockey a try sessions, clinics, been part of select camps, coached camps for the Men’s Finnish National Amputee Ice Hockey Team and ran the stick handling stations at the PWHPA Dream Gap Tour girl’s clinic in San Jose, California.
