    Welcome to the Haymarket IcePlex located at 15155 Washington St. in the beautiful downtown historic Town of Haymarket, Virginia; behind Piedmont Tire. We have been open to the public since 2011 and offer 2 sheets of ice.

    On this website, you will be able to find information about our programs including travel and recreational hockey leagues, group skating lessons, birthday parties, figure skating, synchronized skating, try hockey for free, learn to play hockey and more.

     Our intention is to provide the best experience on- and off-ice for everyone who walks through our doors.

    Please create an account with us by clicking the "Registration" tab. Then click the "Create Account" tab and fill out the information needed. Once you complete this process, you can register for all activities through your Haymarket Iceplex account.

      • Participants should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their ice session. Doors to the facility will remain closed until 10 minutes prior to the start of an activity. Please practice social distancing while waiting for entry.
      • We have established a separate entrance and exit to assist in social distancing.
      • Locker rooms will not be available for participants or coaches. Individuals who are participating must dress at home and come to the rink needing only to put on skates, helmet, and gloves.
      • Please bring a full water bottle with your name clearly labeled on it. Sharing of water bottles and use of our water fountains is not permitted
      • Each participant is allowed a 1-gallon sized bag to contain items that they may need during training, this must be labeled with participants name. Everything else must be left in your vehicle, this includes all hockey and figure skating bags.
      • Face coverings will be required in the facility. They may be removed when on the ice.
      • If you have tested positive (whether you have symptoms related to COVID-19 or not), or otherwise been diagnosed with COVID-19, you may not enter the building until cleared by a qualified medical professional. 
      • If you know, believe, or suspect that you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have come in to contact with a person infected by COVID-19, you should self-isolate, and may not enter the building until 14-days have passed in which you are symptom free.
      • Participants displaying COVID-19 symptoms or other signs of illness should not come to the facility.
      • Showers, water fountains, and vending machines will be off-limits until further notice.
      • Each coach, volunteer, player, family, or other participant must decide for themselves whether or not to participate in activities knowing that until COVID-19 is either eradicated, a vaccine is developed, or a cure is found, there is no way of completely eliminating the risk of infection. Educate yourself as to the risks involved, make informed choices, and above all do everything you possibly can to stay safe.


      • A screening of all individuals entering the facility for any programming will include a temperature check. If you have a temperature above 100.4 or any symptoms associated with COVID-19, you may not enter the facility.
      • We have sneeze guards in areas that require customer and employee interactions.
      • We have hand sanitizer available for your use.
      • We have signage around the facility to encourage physical distancing and enhanced hygiene behaviors.
      • We will be cleaning and disinfecting the facility more frequently.


      • Sessions will be held to a limited capacity.
      • Rental skates will be disinfected when returned to skate rental.
      • Skaters will be required to wear face coverings while on the ice.
      • Skaters must maintain 6’ social distancing from others not in their party.


      • Players will be allowed to enter the building 10 minutes prior to event start time and will go through a minor screening process, including temperature check.
      • Starting 8/24/2020 reservations are not required.  Payment or passes will be accepted at the front desk.
      • While on the ice, coaches and participants should remain 10 feet apart.
      • At the end of the event, players will be asked to assist in pushing pucks to a designated area for rink staff to collect.
      • Participants and coaches must leave the rink within 10 minutes of the end of the session.


      • Skaters will be allowed to enter the building 10 minutes prior to the event start time and will go through a minor screening process, including temperature check.
      • Starting 8/24/2020 reservations are not required.  Payment or passes will be accepted at the front desk.
      • While one the ice, coaches and participants should remain 10 feet apart.
      • Participants and coaches must leave the rink within 10 minutes of the end of the session.


      • Morning hockey and power skating lessons are available through Haymarket Iceplex approved coaches, listed on our website.
      • Coaches will be required to wear masks.
      • Coaches and participants should maintain social distancing during lessons.
      • Participants may enter the building 10 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson.
      • Lessons must be scheduled through the coaches directly.
      • The ice is generally available for coaches to provide morning lessons 6:00am-9:00am.
      • During this time of restrictions, individuals receiving lessons may only be on the ice during their lesson time and must leave the building within 10 minutes of their lesson ending.
      • Participants must pay the ice fee through the use of Stick and Shoot packages, which can be purchased on our website.



    The Future Caps Learn to Play program provides an opportunity for kids 5-9 years of age to receive a free complete set of hockey gear while participating in an eight-week  instructional program on learning to play hockey. 

    The Haymarket Iceplex will host one session of Future Caps Lean to Play in the spring of 2021.  The session will begin on April 17th and run for eight weeks (not counting Memorial Day weekend).   Ice time is at 10:30-11:30 on Saturday mornings.  Attendance is limited and later registrations may be waitlisted.   Early registration ( prior to April 1) is encouraged so that the free hockey gear process is completed and equipment arrives prior to the first session.

    This site is scheduled to be operational beginning in the afternoon of March 8, 2021.  It is operated by the NHL, not the Haymarket Iceplex.

    The Iceplex will provide at no additional cost initial skate sharpening and hockey stick sizing/taping.

    Ice skating experience is required.  Completion of LTS/Hockey 3-4 is highly recommended.  Skaters who have not completed a LTS/Hockey 3-4 session may be required to undergo a skill evaluation.

    Learn To Play Hockey 1 ages 5-10 (LTPH1)

    2021 Sessions 3 and 4 of LTPH 1 are now open for registration.

    Session 3 will run from June 7 through July 14.  Session 4 will run from July 19 through August 25.

    Each session is on the ice two days per week (Monday and Wednesday) for 6 weeks.

    Learn to Skate Classes

    We offer figure skating or hockey SKATING skills.

    We run 6 or 7 week classes annually on Mondays evenings and Saturdays mornings.  Classes are for ages 4.5 yrs old - 18y.


    Registration for each session does NOT begin until one week prior to the start date of class.




    Planning a Birthday Party?


    Why not plan an ice skating birthday party for your child?

    Party room, pizza and drinks. Party package $150 for 8 kids. (this includes the birthday boy/girl)

    Party Options: extra pizzas, extra drinks, extra guests and an extra added option of a 30-minute group instructed class, teaching children who are new to ice-skating, how to skate.

    Parties are held during our scheduled Public Session times only which are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Party Room is for 1 hour only either before public session or after public session. Example: If our Saturday public session is from 5:30p to 6:50p  then your party room can be from 4:30p-5:30p or 6:50p-7:50p.


    IMPORTANT Note: ON THE  SATURDAY MORNING public sessions, they are scheduled from 11:30a-12:50p and the ONLY party room time available is after the public session from 12:50p-1:50p. THERE WILL NOT BE A PARTY ROOM TIME BEFORE THE PUBLIC SKATE AVAILABLE AT 10:30a due to the pizza place is not open yet.
