In light of new announcements due to COVID – 19, the Haymarket Iceplex will remain closed  until further notice.

June 2, 2020 UPDATE :
We are making significant progress with the renovations on the North rink. We’ve had fun with some videos on Facebook and you can see the progress in those. Our goal is to have the North rink up and running by September 1.

We have cut the ice down on the South rink to a minimal (unskatable) level to save on the utility cost of maintaining thicker ice. Beginning this week, (June 1) we will be rebuilding that ice and repainting. That process will take about 10 days. We are targeting a reopening date of June 15. This date is certainly subject to change, based on what Virginia businesses are allowed to do.

When we do reopen, we will be implementing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures as well as social distancing protocols for the safety of our  participants, staff and spectators. As we get closer to a confirmed opening date, we will provide that information.

Stay safe and well. We hope to see you soon!

To:  Haymarket Iceplex Community, Update: March 16, 2020

As you know by now, there have been reported cases of the Coronavirus in our area.  At this time of uncertainty, we assure you that the Haymarket Iceplex is increasing our level of routine cleaning to mitigate the risks associated with the Coronavirus.

Rink staff will be routinely wiping down door handles and other surfaces with which the public will be in contact, as well as make sure areas of the rink are kept clean to the best of our ability.

Some things you can do, recommended by the Center for Disease Control:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home if you are sick.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow
  • Throw used tissue in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Currently scheduled rink events will go on as scheduled.  We will be monitoring this situation closely and will update the public if things change.
